Martial law is indeed one the most talked issues in the country today. People who had a bitter sweet experience of the martial law from the past brought a breaking and deluded perception to the people of this new generation. The occurrence of different versions on how the Martial Law went in Marcos' time causes the wrong conception to the people and even fear the majority upon the sudden declaration of the said law directed by President Duterte. It is just unbelievable that those who argue the law is also the one who is completely clueless to define Martial Law according to its functions and purposes. Thus, Martial Law is something that is a must for the people this generation to understand and that the Martial Law most people know is not always about executing but a quell to social disorders and road to solidarity.
The fact that some people in power nowadays want to portray what they believe to portray and set aside the things they don't want. For an instance, the Martial Law happened during the Marcos', what was written in the book was all about the vast destruction of the human rights and its unpleasing events and left covered the good deeds and contributions of Marcos' to the Philippine government. It is just a proof that people remembers more the things you committed wrong than the amount of good things you've done. It's very injustice and unrighteous to hear people saying that the Philippine Martial Law is now a form of killing and the administration of Marcos and President Duterte is way too similar that another suffering and agony of Filipino awaits. It is not like that! There's no like that. Yes the Martial Law happened 45 years ago was devastating but doesn't mean Martial Law itself is devastating, it's the people who make so, do not let the fake information's devour your conception, what you knew is not always accurate it could be hoaxed if you limit your understanding. Martial Law is a way of implementing justice and protection to people. Martial is a way of putting back things. Martial Law is something to be celebrated not something to be feared of.
Let us be reminded that it is fine to look back from the fast, what is not is dwelling with it.
